I was looking to buy a washer/dryer set last week and visited Sears just to see if they had any good deals. The answer was no they didn’t, and if I wanted a gas dryer it would take a couple of weeks to come in. Then the sales person was talking about the 6 year protection plan I could purchase. Told him no thanks, I don’t see anything I want and somehow I doubt Sears is going to be around to honor that protection plan for 6 months, much less 6 years.
Bought from a locally owned appliance shop instead. Priced within $100 of Lowe’s or Home Depot, offered next day delivery, free installation and had gas dryers in stock. Plus they service anything they sell.
At least Lampart’s investment fund gets all the property for pennies on the dollar, the name rights to brands that sell okay, and none of the debt and costs of Sears Holding that can just be bankrupted off and that is after all the important thing here.
